Who can join G.E.M.?

G.E.M. online community prioritizes space for QTBIPOC folks, but does not turn people away who are looking for community. We will always put the safety and comfort of QTBIPOC members first, and if someone is violating that, they will be asked to leave.

We do ask that non-bipoc folks utilize other support groups first before coming to g.e.m. as there are many support groups that can offer space, and that we let this be a space for the folks who truly have not had a space to be.

How often does G.E.M. meet?

G.E.M. holds meetings on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month from 6PM-7:30PM PST via Discord. In the event G.E.M. is canceled, you’ll see a post via our Instagram @genderendersmeet.

Does G.E.M. ever happen in person?

Yes and no! Haha. We are virtual space for the sake of access, for folks who are in more rural areas, or homebound. We also acknowledge that part of our access includes desires to acquire ASL interpreatation services for our Deaf and HoH community members.

I, bliss, do table for our group in person wherever and whenever I can, strategic to table at zine fests, lgbtq resource fairs, DIY fests, wellness events, etc. You can usually find me with art prints, sexual health and wellness supplies and harm reduction wares, masks, etc, please say hi if you do!

Can I come late to G.E.M.? Leave early?

Although group starts at 6PM, there is a 10 minute grace period where we’ll wait to open the Zoom room to everyone until 6:10PM, so that people have time to login/connect.

With that being said…

For the sake of group attendees and being respectful of the time we’ve all set aside to invest together, we’d prefer people be no later than that. You may always leave early, it’s just difficult to begin group and have to start over mid group, to introduce people who are showing up 30+ minutes late. It’s all love lol, but we want to keep it respectful and considerate for all involved <3
